The smelt (European smelt) is a species of small ray-finned fish of the smelt family. The smelt has elongated body covered with large scales. The back is olive-brown, the sides are silvery. Smelt meat contains useful minerals and trace elements such as iron, potassium, magnesium, sodium, phosphorus, chlorine, molybdenum, and fluorine. The smelt is also very useful, due to the content of vitamins A, D, B group and a large number of trace elements. The smelt is highly digested and improves metabolism
