Saithe is a valuable commercial fish of the cod family (Gadidae). It lives in the waters of the North Atlantic, from Greenland all the way to New York. This fish can also be found near the northern shores of Iceland and Norway. Saithe is easily identified by its light-coloured, slightly curved lateral stripe on its sides.
